Another live stage show is back at Walt Disney World this week with the reopening of 'Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!' at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The updated Finding Nemo musical carries over much from the 2007 original, including many of the puppets and their performers. Walt Disney World Entertainment always delivers fantastic performances, and the cast gives it their all in this new telling of the Finding Nemo story.
The new show is a shorter format, running for 25 minutes compared to the original show's rather long 45 minutes. The new show's length makes the story snappier, and we feel it flows better than the original. If you were hoping for any updates to the seating during the closure, sorry to say they are still the same uncomfortable seats as before - but the shorter show length certainly helps!
Watch the video below for a look at the entire show from the first performance of 'Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!' on the grand opening day.
All of the signature songs from the original show make a return and sound better than ever and continue to be performed live.
In addition to a new script, the show now features new scenic set pieces and a new LED video wall that is used to good effect. New pieces include a 32-foot-long sunken submarine and a fish tank volcano standing nearly 15 feet tall.
'Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!' offers both Lightning Lane and Standby Lines. Lightning Lane is available with the purchase of Genie+, which costs $15. So far, it has not been necessary to use Lightning Lane, with all standby guests being accommodated in the theater. The standby line opens around 30 minutes before show time, with entry into the theater 15 minutes before the show.
The current schedule lists six shows per day at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, and 4:30pm.
