The first phase of the new entrance area at Disney's Hollywood Studios opened last month, with construction now continuing around the original bag check area.
As you can see from these aerial shots, the bag screening area is being extended into an L-shape, which should provide a lot of capacity for guests arriving from the Skyliner, resort busses, and the parking lots.
Two new circular planters are being built, with the original near to the lake now removed to takeaway for the bag check extension.
The new entrance is the final step alongside the opening of Disney Skyliner which is expected later this year. New entry roads, parking plaza, resort bus stops, tram drop-off and parking lots have already opened.
Improvements to the arrival experience at the park are an important part of the relaunch of the park. Disney's Hollywood Studios is expecting record crowds with the opening of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge in August 2019 and Mickey's Runaway Railway in early 2020.
