Has anyone seen a video of Spectromagic in its early years, the 90s, with the view of it starting and coming out of the town square gate? I can only find videos of this from the later years.

Well, when MSEP had it's own VHS Souvenir video, Cinderella who is the hostess of the video (Played by a cast member) says that MSEP has over 41 floats. But this is before MSEP started to cut some of the of the floats, like Dumbo.

I think it might just be called "Wishes"

I cannot for the life of me think of the name of the song but the intro to Wishes (Starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight, so make a wish and do as dreamers do) will probably play a part in the soundtrack

Starlight….starbright….first star I see tonight Maybe they’ll throw a nod to Wishes in there

1- Outside of the spoken narrative introduction, no night parade outside of Spectromagic has ever actually even included the title as part of the lyrics. In fact, as far as i'm aware Spectromagic was the only night parade that even had an original song with lyrics. Paint the Night just uses the Owl City song. The themes for MSEP, Fantillusion and Dreamlights don't have lyrics. 2- If they do insist on putting the title in the song, they could very easily just replace the word Spectromagic wherever it's used in the song with the phrase "Starlight Magic". Both begin with S and both have the same amount of syllables. Like this- On this magic night, A million stars will play beside us, Cast a spell of light, Glimmering, shimmering, carousel-ling 'Round the world tonight, A symphony in Starlight magic. Pure enchantment lights our way!

Only problem is the word: Starlight. It's not as long as Spectromagic to fit into the Song......

Would be neat if they at least embed part of the Spectro music within the new music for this parade - sort of like how Baroque Hoedown is utilized within Paint the Night

More than ever, I wish they would use the Spectromagic soundtrack for this. The crazy part is that most if not all of the main lyrics wouldn't require any alterations since they already suit the theme/title of this parade astonishing well. Just look at the opening verse- On this magic night, A million stars will play beside us, Cast a spell of light, Glimmering, shimmering, carousel-ling ^This is a perfect fit for a parade named "Starlight". Also, Jiminy Cricket was the intro and exit narrator of Spectromagic, and now we've got the Blue Fairy appearing as a float...

Personally? Specto at the the top with Fantillusion a close second. Then the orignal MSEPs then DEP. I hope to add Dreamlights to the list before I die. I’m also partial to the original Boo to You and year one Dazzling Christmas Parade from Paris.

Thank you. My only bug bear with this was they pulled the show the very trip I planned on reshooting it in HD / widescreen.

I don't care if it's been 15 years, I'm still grieving over the fate of this beautiful and unique parade.

Thanks again for this! It lets us(maybe its just me)know that Starlight is still on TDO's Radar!
