Kingdom Hearts III preview experience coming to Disney Springs Town Center

Disney Springs will be hosting a limited time Kingdom Hearts experience this winter.

Beginning December 14 2018, the experience will give guests the chance to play some of the Kingdom Hearts III game, see a Keyblade exhibit and special artwork.

Visitors can also pre-order the game using kiosks, which is set for release on January 29 2019. The Disney Springs Kingdom of Hearts experience will be open through January 31 2019.

Kingdom Hearts III is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the twelfth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, a sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, and the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga. Characters from Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Hero 6, Tangled, and Frozen make appearances in the game.

Disney has not yet confirmed the location, but the former Disney Corner building in the Town Centre is thought to be where the Kingdom Hearts experience will take place.

Last day of operation was last Thursday. Some of the wall art might still be up but I’m sure most of the inside has been removed by now.

There are some neat displays in there, but I don’t find fulfillment by waiting in line to play a game I can have at home in a month.

I was at Springs for a few hours today and it seemed to be significantly less crowded than yesterday. Arrived at 9:30 and was in the first group to enter the building. (If you’re a single player in your party it helps since you only need one screen). The line did get pretty long by opening but once people started going through it pretty much disappeared.

it was a couple of hours today, but there are a lot of superfine there today. I would expect to see it improve over the coming days.

Does anyone have an idea how long people have had to wait for their play time? I’d like to get in there on Sunday but if it’s a long time I’ll probably have to pass :’(

I’m headed there first thing Saturday to do exactly that. :) There have been similar sort of pop-ups in recent months and I think this is the same sort of thing, but I agree it’s certainly worth documenting considering it’s at WDW. Also there’s an error in the article. The game releases Jan 29th, not 25th ;)

The store in the Japan pavillion is run by Mitsukoshi, a Japanese department store. Therefore if they can't get hold of the merchandise then they can't sell it.
