EPCOT Canada Pavilion Construction Update - Is a Bar or DVC Addition on the Way?

Canada Pavilion construction - December 27, 2024

A new exterior-facing kiosk window is taking shape at EPCOT's Canada Pavilion, part of a still unknown project.

The construction is focused on the Hotel du Canada area, a part of the pavilion that has been inaccessible to guests for years. A previously filed permit listed the project as "Install Set Elements" and was assigned to Icarus Exhibits. This vendor has extensive experience with Disney, having contributed to TRON Lightcycle Run, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, and Toy Story Land.

While the permit's description remains intentionally vague, the involvement of Walt Disney Imagineering indicates a guest-facing addition is likely. Combined with the kiosk-style window visible in the construction photos, it seems the pavilion might be expanding its offerings.

Current theories suggest the possibility of a bar or lounge space, while others wonder if it could tie into a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) initiative.

Since you like poutine…what if I told you your Disney vacations could become routine?

Lots of activity today, if you can look closely you can also see that the small stone house is also getting work done

The dimensions don’t look right for those windows to be serving windows. The previous windows there were just for display and didn’t actually allow you to see in or out. My theory is these were created to add a view to the waterfalls and/or allow another way for people to se into whatever this venue is.

If this somehow a food service bar snack thing etc, isn't it kind of odd they would put it on the backside instead of where the shop entrance was?? Unless Im seeing it wrong.

The what looked like a big screen tv that was on the wall before seems to be gone now https://blogmickey.com/2025/01/sneak-peek-canada-mystery-project/

They can do whatever they want to this pavilion, but if they have stopped/ever stop selling ketchup chips and Coffee Crisp bars, my Canadian sensibilities will be offended and I will politely riot.

I guess they had to rip out the windows to get the big screen TV in? 😄

Your poutine order is coming right up. While you're waiting, have you ever thought about a timeshare at a Disney resort?...

It’s coming along, looks like the ledge is too low to be a service window though

There was a restauranrt in Canada outside of Montreal called Fourquet Fourchette that was owned by Unibroue, and the menu was all inspired by their different brews... It was fantastic, and the first time I ever had those beers... I think it is long gone now...but I still grab some Fin Du Monde when I see it...

I actually run into it somewhat often... but perhaps I'm exposing the level of beer nerd I am... (as your general assessment isn't wrong. haha)

It is a remarkable product that is not represented much in the US...They do serve one or two varieties at Le Cellier, but a larger presence would be fantastic.
